Dr. C Thomas Peter served as the Director of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Electrocardiography and Electrophysiology Section in the Division of Cardiology where he was honored as the first recipient of the Wasserman Foundation Chair. An Emeritus Professor of Medicine in Cardiology at UCLA, he has a mentorship program named after him which provides Electrophysiologists, especially from developing countries, access to the dynamic resources at both Cedars-Sinai and UCLA. In 2006, Dr. Peter was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by UCSF. After retiring in 2007, he continued to teach and train Electrophysiologists around the world.

Sadly in 2013, Dr. Peter was diagnosed with ALS, subsequently undergoing a tracheotomy in 2016. Over the following year he became paralyzed from the neck down, being able to communicate only with his eyes. Most of this book was written using an eye-controlled tablet.

If you would like to learn more about Dr. Peter you can purchase his memoir Stories of My Life : Some Short, Some Tall which was completed entirely using his eye-controlled tablet. All proceeds from his memoir are donated to the ALS Association (Golden West Chapter).
